CET appreciates the community spirit of our professional athletes in the Bay Area and especially thank Raider players Marques "Tui" Tuiasosopo and Corey Hulsey for their participation in our 2nd annual golf tournament . The following is an excerpt from the story authored by Courtney Smith that appeared on the Raiders website on May 16, 2004 (www.raiders.com)
Raiders Play Golf for Jobs
The Center for Employment Training (CET) held their 2nd Annual Spring Golf Tournament at Coyote Creek Golf Course in San Jose, Calif., on Friday, May 14. Two of our very own Raiders players were on hand to help out the charity. QB Marques "Tui" Tuiasosopo and OL Corey Hulsey battled their way through 18 holes of golf at Coyote Creek. When asked how the day was going for the two, Hulsey sarcastically quipped, "Great." But moments later, he reassured the fact that he and Tuiasosopo would do "just fine."
Over 100 people, men and women, from around the Bay Area participated in the tournament. After playing, each participant was served dinner with Mariachi Music playing in the background. A live and silent auction took place and winners of the tournament and raffle drawings were mentioned.

With all the fun and laugher taking place during the day, a bigger joy was behind it all. Many Bay Area residents were given the support they needed to help get a job
"I think it's nice what they're (CET) doing," Tui stated. He appreciated how helpful the program can be to those who don't have "the same opportunity as others. It's nice to come out and support people who need jobs. It's an opportunity to give to the community," Tui continued to add.
Hulsey, adding to Tui's comments, stated, "We (the Raiders) like to take advantage of anything we can do to help." He added, "It feels good to help those without jobs. Maybe by this, jobs will open up."
Many Raiders players find time to participate in "other endeavors other than football," as Tui put it. From helping CET to donating time and money, the Raiders are all over the Bay Area helping the community. Tui added, "It's nice to be available."
