Support

Since the inception of CET in 1967, our non-profit 501(c)(3), has received funding from two primary sources: over 50% from state and federal government and the remainder from the private sector. To secure continued growth, dependency on government funds is a risky proposition as political party control changes every few years. To maintain our consistent year-round training service quality, private sector funding continues to be of utmost importance.

Job Development / Industry Ties

A large part of CET's success over the years has been its close ties to industry standards and employer demands. Instructors are hired straight from industry and often have veteran experience in a given field. CET offers training only in demand occupations and strives to maintain relationships with local employers through Industrial Advisory Board(s), CET volunteer support groups composed of representatives from a broad spectrum of the private sector.

Industrial Advisory Board (IAB)

Founded in 1967, the IAB has consistently provided CET with close ties to business and industry, which are vital to our trainees' success in finding meaningful employment upon training completion.

The IAB serves in an advisory role to CET training center directors and its long-term value to our program is measured in numerous ways. The IAB not only assists with direct contributions of time, resources and equipment, but also indirectly through its influence within the private sector and with public officials on behalf of CET's fundraising and program development efforts.

The partnership between CET and industry, as reflected by the IAB, is one of mutual assistance. CET needs jobs for its trainees and industry needs skilled employees. Through this partnership CET helps to minimize advertising, interviewing and training costs to industry and increases employment opportunities for local residents. The IAB provides strong support to CET in accomplishing its goals of training and placing qualified personnel in jobs.

Contact your local center for the next IAB meeting.
