| Obtaining non-subsidized employment with employee
benefits is the ultimate goal for each student who attends CET.
In preparing for a transition to long term, secure employment jobs,
CET education and training focuses on good work habits, in addition
to skills training. Employers in the community are very supportive
of the San Diego training programs. Not only do they provide the
critical support in hiring students, they also contribute up-front
to curriculum development so that the students are training in real
world, in-demand skills that are needed in that industry.
Some of the major employers who work with and support San Diego’s
CET programs are NASSCO, RCQ Construction, Southwestern Marine,
Miller Marine to name a few.
Overall business insights are learned in combination with skills
training through simulation of a business environment, where training
is integrated to include work place know-how, work preparedness,
good attendance, punctuality, and work quality.
CET students stay in training until they are placed in a job
