An active CET partner, they have been providing materials for CET's El Centro's Welding Shop training for 5 years. Sales Manager, Jessee Riddle explained why G.W. G. W. Heineke Co. has been in the Imperial Valley for over 50 years working in the Steel Fabrication and Supply Business. They provide customer fabrication and metals distribution for the southern California and surrounding region. With approximately 30 employees, G.W. Heineke & Company is located in a modern 50,000 square foot facility spread over three main buildings on approximately four acres.

Mario Corral, G. W. Heineke's Production Manager makes sure that "over a ton of Steel" is donated on a monthly basis. He is also a member of the CET El Centro Technical Advisory Committee for Welding and frequently donates his valuable time to visit the training classroom, to advise CET staff and assist getting students' job ready.

This donation is tremendously valuable to the CET students, as it adds up to an enormous savings for CET in training materials. Utilizing a contextual training model, CET students train at their own pace in a highly individualized, non-competitive environment, with over 60% of the training conducted in a hands-on environment. The materials G.W. Heineke donates are top quality scrap and ready to weld material for students to practice their hands on exercises.

At CET, good work habits are learned through simulation of a business environment. Again, receiving materials from the private sector allows training to integrate hands-on and work place know-how, work preparedness—these skills combined with good attendance and punctuality, and job placement preparedness make CET students excellent hires.
