About CET El Centro

Branch Services

This facility, located in the midst of one of the highest density low-income neighborhoods in El Centro, has been successfully used for many years and is well suited for CET job skills training activities. The complex allows for expansion or contraction of classes as demand requires.

The training facility is fully handicapped accessible, with handicapped parking spaces and rest rooms modified for their use. There are neither steps to climb nor second stories to access in this facility. Student and staff parking is more than adequate. The facility is in compliance with all local, ADA and OSHA requirements.

CET's El Centro training facility is located at 294 South Third Street, El Centro and consists of six buildings, (each approximately 2,100 sq feet) and one other renovated building (6,000 sq feet). Vocational and job-skills training is provided in these buildings as well as some outdoor space within the overall complex.

CET El Centro has served Imperial County for some 24 years and has repeatedly demonstrated its capacity to serve hundreds of students each year. Capacity hovers around 200 student/clients in daily attendance.

Locally, we have maintained an average placement rate of over 70% during most of our years of service to Imperial County.

To accommodate the large Hispanic population, all CET's courses are taught in both English and Spanish.

The El Centro CET office offers training programs for a variety of skills including

Counseling, job development and administrative services are also housed within the Third Street complex.

Classes are Monday thru Friday from 7:00 to 2:30 p.m.

The El Centro center's Director, Judy Siqueiros has been with CET for the past 16 years. Ms. Siqueiros is a member of the Workforce Investment Board and is the WIB Chair of the youth council. Prior to her work at CET, Judy worked at Coachella Valley Medical for several years. She received her academic training in Vocational Education and received her certification of Authorization for Service Firm Bureau for Private Post Secondary and Vocational Education.

CET Students train 5 days a week, 7 hours day, at their own pace, attending skills and job training until they pass competency levels of a minimum 70% in a given skill. They are trained by instructors who have extensive private sector industry experience, whereby they provide instruction and work-place simulated supervision, to best prepare students for long-term job placement. Instructors work in teams to provide a contextual learning environment for each student.

CET, a non-profit 501(c)(3), has received funding support from two primary sources: over 50% from local, state, and federal government and the remainder from the private sector.
