In preparing for a transition to long term, secure employment jobs, CET education and training focuses on good work habits, in addition to skills training. Employers in the community are very supportive of the El Centro training programs. Not only do they provide the critical support in hiring students, they also contribute up-front to curriculum development so that the students are training in real world, in-demand skills that are needed in that industry.
Some of the major employers who work with and support El Centro CET programs are National Steel and Ship building Company, NASSCO, Central Pipe, Fallas Paredes, and Garcia Foods, to name a few.
Overall business insights are learned in combination with skills training through simulation of a business environment, where training is integrated to include work place know-how, work preparedness, good attendance, punctuality, and work quality.
CET students stay in contact with the Job Developers until they are placed in a job.
