Pepsi Bottling Group Provides Seed Funds for Hispanic Educational Scholarship for Center for Employment Training

SAN JOSE, Calif ' February 15, 2005 ' The Center for Employment Training (CET),the country's leading employment training organization, provides job training to improve the lives of the neediest members of society, announced today that the Pepsi Bottling Group (PBG), the world's largest manufacturer, seller and distributor of Pepsi-Cola beverages, has provided the seed funds for our first Hispanic Educational Scholarship.

The Pepsi Hispanic Scholarship will support the underlying CET Mission, which is to "embrace the philosophy that the dignity and self-determination of each individual is paramount to job success and a fulfilling life". The scholarship will encourage Hispanic people of all ages, who are in-need to pursue job skills training in order to obtain stable employment, as well as to provide CET students alternatives to government funding for CET Training tuition.

"We are very excited to help start the new Pepsi Hispanic Scholarship Fund. CET is a great organization that provides a tremendous service that makes a meaningful impact in many communities across the country", said Richard Amrozowicz, PBG's Vice President General Manager, Northern California Coast Market Unit.

Ms. Sapien, CEO of the Center for Employment Training accepted the generous contribution and stated, "This special contribution from Pepsi reaffirms the strong partnership that has developed between CET and Pepsi over these past few years. CET will use this as seed money to found the "Pepsi Hispanic Scholarship Fund" which will serve to expand training opportunities for people eager to improve their lives and become self-sufficient."

Pepsi's partnership with CET has been instrumental in providing support for training course development, career center coaching and has hired several CET graduates, this past fiscal year.
