CET LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TO ASSIST INJURED AND DISABLED WORKERS
CET, in collaboration with the California State Department of Rehabilitation, is expanding its effort to inform eligible injured and disabled workers of the rehabilitation benefits that exist for them through the injured worker voucher and rehabilitation legislation. In 2006, new legislation in
California
changed to include rehabilitation benefits known as “vouchers.” The public is not well informed of this benefit because information is only being distributed in English. One Percent – of injured workers is using the training voucher after being injured on the job. Many injured workers are unaware of the purpose of the rehabilitation vouchers due to the language barrier. CET has begun to distribute information in Spanish to monolingual injured workers in order to increase awareness among workers who may be eligible for retraining and rehabilitation.
