The Center for Employment Training (CET), headquartered in

, was awarded a $200,000 grant by the
U.S.
Department of Labor-Employment Training Administration. This grant will support a Medical and Healthcare Occupations training program for young people in
Santa Clara
County
. CET was sponsored for this Grant by U.S. Representative
Zoe Lofgren
, D – San Jose.
Through this project, which will operate from
January 1, 2005
to
December, 31, 2007
, healthcare skills training will be provided to 30 at-risk, out of school youth, ages 17-24.
CET will work in partnership with the local One-Stop Center, employers, and community partners to offer a wide range of services to the young participants.
The services will include case management, counseling, basic skills remediation, job readiness and placement, and supportive services.
